International Yoga Day Celebrations Across JSPL- The Glimpses

“Yoga is the most favorable method to connect to the nature by balancing the mind-body connection. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with you, the world and the nature.”
It is with this in mind that thousands gathered at various locations across the Jindal Steel & Power Limited to perform different asanas, marking the second International Yoga Day on 21st of June, 2016. Yoga, which has been practiced in the country for centuries, received global recognition after the United Nations declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day in 2014, a proposal that was initiated by India.

JSPL, Patratu
A mega yoga session for all the employees and their family members was organized at Jindal club, JSPL, Patratu. Yoga guru Mr. Abhay Kumar Singh and Mr. Manikant Jha demonstrated many useful "Aasanas" to the member of JSPL families assembled for the Yoga Session. Many useful Aasanas were practiced under the guidance of yoga gurus and they explained the long term benefits of the same. Unit Head-HRD Mr. Bhushan A. Singh, Commercial Unit Head Mr. Sudhir Kumar, RBSC Unit Head Mr. Arvind Kumar Singh and other members of JSPL, Patratu family had attended the session.

JSPL, Angul

The Angul unit celebrated the Second International Day of Yoga with a mass yoga session participated by hundreds of employees with their family and people from the local villages. The session was organized under the guidance of Yoga Guru Swami Satyabindu Saraswati at Jindal Nagar. Executive Director and Location Head of JSPL, Mr. Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, Chief Technical Officer and Executive Director Mr. Sabyasachi Bandyopadhyaya, Executive Director Projects Mr. Bharat Rohra graced the occasion and participated in the Yoga session. Yoga Guru Swami Satyabindu Saraswati guided the participants with different yoga postures and explained its benefits. On this occasion, more than hundred regular yoga practitioners were awarded with certificate of appreciation for their dedication and determination towards Yoga.

Mrs. Sujata Saraogi, the President of the Jindal Mahila Samiti along with its members, also participated in this Yoga Camp coordinated by Mr. C.D. Mathew, Vice-President (HR&ES) and his team. OP Jindal School and DAV Savitri Jindal School of Badamahitala R&R also observed the day with a yoga session participated by its students and teachers.

It is to be noted that JSPL, pursuing its mission to augment the quality of life of the local community, has been organizing regular yoga sessions for the villages in the locality.

The INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY was celebrated in NSPL with great zeal and enthusiasm. The employees and their families along with students and teachers of O P Jindal School , Nalwa performed yoga exercises in the morning session from 7:00 am to 8:00 am at the Yoga Centre ground . On this occasion, The Director & Plant Head Shri S.S. Rathi ji praised all the students and employees who had attended the session and emphasized on the importance of yoga in daily life and underscored the need for incorporating it as an integral part of life in order to achieve a healthy and prosperous life .

T.R.B Iron Mines, Tensa
T.R.B Iron Mines, Tensa also celebrated the second International Yoga Day. Tensa team had organized a Yoga class at its Indoor Game Hall, situated at the colony premises for employees and family members. Mr. Sunil Kumar Tiwari (Yoga Instructor at JSPL Tensa Campus) explained the benefits of YOGA in day to day life. Unit Head Shri Y. Nagendra and other officials of T.R.B Iron Ore Mines had participated in the class.

JSPL, Raipur
JSPL, Raipur celebrated the World Yoga Day in a grand manner. The employees & their family members gathered in the Heritage Park to attend a half an hour Yoga session organized there.
The session started at 8:00 am and finished at 8:30am. In his message, yoga teacher had explained about the benefits of the yoga and emphasized that efforts should be made for a medicine free life by including yoga exercise in daily life style.
