JSPL Barbil Unit Organises Career Counselling Programme

CSR Department of JSPL Barbil Unit recently organised its first ever ‘Career Counselling Programme’ for the students of the peripheral villages at Kuldum village. More than 60 school and college students attended the career counselling programme. Among those, present on the occasion , were Mr. Amulya Ranjan Mahapatra, DGM- Corporate Affairs, Mr. V Lakra, HOD- CSR, Mr. Dubraj Mahanta, Local village representative, Mr. Pandia Munda, village leader and others. Various sessions on different topics were held in the day long career counselling programme.
Students from the nearby villages made queries over various scopes and opportunities to build their career after pursuing their studies. Principal, OPJCC, Barbil Mr. R N Mahapatra, counselled the students on options and opportunities of technical education in current scenario. Jindal School Principal Mr. G Ramakishore guided the students over career path selection and its benefit. Similarly Barbil College Principal Dr. Sudarshan Mohanty spoke over education and its impact in life to the students attending the career counselling programme. A group discussion & group work session was also held to educate the participants about work environment in an organisation. Inspiring videos / games were also displayed in the day long programme to aware & educate the participants. Mr. Jadumani Mahanta of CSR Dept. extended the vote of thanks while Mr. U Mandal, Sitaram and Rajendra coordinated the whole programme.
In his congratulatory remarks, EVP & JSPL Barbil Unit Head Mr. T S Shanbhogue lauded the unique initiative in organizing this event. “This type of programme will certainly bring huge

benefits for the student, will help students pursue something according to their aptitude and interests but also with good future opportunities in their career plans”, he added.
