Hon’ble Chairman Addressed ASSOCHAM Conference On Hydropower

Shri Naveen Jindal, hon’ble Chairman, Jindal steel & Power Ltd delivered a special address at conference ‘Hydropower @ Crossroads’ organized by ASSOCHAM on 3rd May 2016 in New Delhi. Hon’ble Chairman emphasised on the development of huge untapped hydropower potential in the country for energy security and urged Central and State Govt authorities to support the endeavours of the developers for accelerated hydropower development. He highlighted the challenges in implementing hydropower projects in remote areas in Arunachal Pradesh. Shri Kalikho Pul, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and senior officials of Govt of India, State Govt, PSUs & private sector have also spoken on various issues of hydropower development in the conference. Shri M. M. Madan, CEO (Hydro & Renewable Business), Jindal Power Ltd chaired the session on ‘Risk mitigation, Timelines on Project concurrences and Need of Storage’ and also made a presentation on ‘Storage Projects; Need, Hurdles and Policy Requirement ‘. Shri Kapil Mantri , Head – Corporate Strategy & Business Development, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd has spoken on policy imperatives for hydropower development in India.
