Tribute to Babuji, on His 11th Punya Tithi

Rich tributes were paid, across locations, to Visionary and Founder of our Group Sh. Om Prakash Jindal Ji, on his 11th Punyatithi on March 31, 2016. A series of social ceremonies were organised across locations in remembrance of beloved “Babuji”

At Raipur, senior Officials and other staff gathered in front of Babuji statue at Heritage Park and paid floral tribute to him. A Bhajan Mandali was also organised on this occasion. Ladies Club, Raipur also paid their tribute to respected Babuji. The Ladies Club served food and distributed cloths amongst old age abandon people.

At Raigarh, floral tributes were offered at the plant. Various programs including lunch at orphanage, old age home, leprosy affected area & blood donation camp was organized by the CSR department of JSPL, Raigarh. Executive Director (Projects & Operations) Sh. Pankaj Gautam, Executive Director (Business Excellence) Sh. Rakesh Kumar, President (Technical) Sh. Nirmalendu Purohit and all the staff members of JSPL Raigarh had paid tribute to the founder.

At DCPP, Dongamahua, the day started with a Hawan where DCPP officials, staff and others participated and paid their homage to Babuji. The Shradhanjali program was concluded with Prasad distribution.

At Angul, two mega blood donation camps and Sri Ram Charitamanasa recital for 24 hrs were held. Executive Director and Location Head of the Angul unit Mr. Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, inaugurated the blood donation camp organized in collaboration with District Blood Bank, Angul. Employees, workers, villagers and their family members led by Mr. DK Saraogi, and Mrs. Sujata Saraogi, President of Jindal MahilaSamiti (JMS), Mr. Damodar Mittal, EVP-Iron & Steel Business, Mr. C.D. Mathew, VP-HR, Mr. S.K. Sharma, AVP-CSR&R, Mr. JLN Murty, AVP-CCD paid floral tribute to Shri OP Jindal at a programme held at JSPL Campus and shared their experience of working under the leadership of Babuji.

District Blood Bank Officer Dr.Biswajeet Samal along with Social Worker and 108 times blood donor Mr. Subodh Mishra, Dr. B.K Das, Chief Medical Officer, Mrs.Pushpalata Satpathy, and other CSR, IR and Medical staff and volunteers of JSPL coordinated the blood donation programme held at JSPL’s PHC and Phase 1B in Angul where 215 blood units were collected. Jindal Mahila Samiti took a lead in organising several philanthropic initiatives in the memory of Shri OP Jindal.

Smt. Sujata Saraogi, President of Jindal MahilaSamiti donated blood at this mega blood donation camp and distributed food items at Nakula Chandra Deaf and Dumb Blind School at Balram Prasad, Talcher and Sishu Gruha at Angul.

JSPL’s Bhubaneswar Office remembered its Founder Shri OP Jindal. Executive Director and Group Head Mr. Manish Kharbanda paid floral tribute to Shri Jindal along with EVP & Group Head (CSR) Mr. Prashant Kumar Hota and other officials. “Sri OP Jindal is one of the Pioneers in steering Industry led development in the Country, who left no stone unturned, to pursue inclusive development through entrepreneurship. His focus for mass and school education will remain as models of Social developments pioneered by Industrial houses”. Children in Mission Ashra in the vicinity of Bhubaneswar were served food packets.

At Barbil, Mr. TS Shanbhogue, Head of Barbil Unit offered floral tribute to Shri OP Jindal along with other employees. Fruits were distributed among patients in Basudevpur Hospital in memory of Shri Jindal. At Tensa Unit Head Mr. Y Nagendra led the employees in offering floral tribute to the Founder. Total 360sets of Study materials and food packets were distributed among children of schools in three villages.

At Tensa, Geeta Path was orgainsed at Nilakantheswar Temple (Lord Shiva) of TRB Irone Ore Mines, in the presence of its Unit Head Shri Y. Nagendra and other officials . On this occasion, study materials to 385 students of the adjoining Schools of Mines situated in Tantra, Raikela and Bandhal were distributed. Gifts for the teaching staff were also arranged.

Geeta Path at Tensa

At JSPL, Gua, CSR Dept. organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in association with India Red Cross Society and Sadar Hospital, Chaibasa. 48 units of blood were collected with the active participation of JSPL Staff and Blood Donors from Gua, Barajamda and other nearby villages.

The program was inaugurated by Shri. P.K. Patra (A.V.P. – Mines) together with Mrs. Chandmani Purty (Mukhiya – Gua East). To support and appraise the program prominent leaders like Mr. Sambhu Hazra Paswan (Zila Parishad Member), Ms. Devki Kumari (Ex-Zila Parishad Member), Mrs. Lalita Purty (Ex-Mukhiya, Gua West) and Mrs. Nutan Sundi (Ex-Mukhiya, Gua East) and Munda of Guasai and Nuia villages were also present.

On this occasion Akhand Ramayan Path was organized at NSPL. Employees gathered at the temple premises of the plant at 8.00 am. Thereafter floral tributes were offered to Babuji followed by day long Akhand Ramayan Path. Director & Plant Head Shri S.S. Rathi ji recounted the Blessings he received from Babuji on the occasion and asked all the employees to follow the path of humility and strive for the skill development. He told that Babuji had a firm belief in skill development of all workers and he believed that without the upliftment of weaker and backward sections of the society, a nation can never prosper.

On his Punyatithi, floral tributes were offered to Babuji at the Patratu Plant. Shradhanjali programme was organised at Hanuman temple inside the plant premises to pay homage to founding father of Jindal Group. Senior officials and all employees remembered our revered Babuji by offering their tributes. Hawan ,Puja and Geeta Paath were organised at the Hanuman temple. Business Head -Jharkhand Mr. Hervinder Singh and all other staff members of JSPL Patratu paid homage to Babuji.

On this occasion, the CSR department in Patratu, in collaboration with RIMS Ranchi, organized a blood donation camp. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Hervinder Singh. Total 160 units of blood were collected. Mr Hervinder Singh visited the camp and interacted with the donors and the members of the Blood Bank team from RIMS. He appreciated the efforts of the CSR Team.
